About Our Services

Staff walk with clients as they navigate the sometimes-complex mental health system. All clients experience immediate support and connections to social and health systems that best fit their needs.

We can help you navigate the mental health system in Alberta.

Finding the help you need can be trying in a complicated mental health system. Especially when you are struggling. We’re here to make it easier. Our professional counsellors are ready to connect you and your family to the best service that fits your needs.

Family crisis support is available both immediately over the phone and in-person at home. Mediated crisis family visits can be extended with repeat visits with the same counsellor. Support via text or chat is also available.

Is your family in crisis today? Our professional counsellors offer intensive support and guidance in those really tough times – both in-person and online.

Our counsellors specialize in helping families with parent-child and any concerns about mental health.

Our mental health support is also available via Virtual Therapy Sessions (phone or video), and at 4 locations in Calgary.

Extended Services: Our Mobile Family Crisis Support includes repeat visits with the same counsellor.

A team of psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, and family therapists work together to address client concerns. One-time and extended services are available in-person at our Marlborough location. Clients can call to book an appointment for virtual or in-person support or email the service.

A team of professionals – psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and family therapists – work together to find ways to help with your mental health concerns.

Single Session Therapy remains available by appointment only. Our registered professionals are also available via Virtual Therapy Sessions (phone or video). Walk-in services are available on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Extended Services are available. You may want to speak with one of our professionals more than once. No more re-telling your story – ECMHS offers Single Session Therapy with the same person.

*Please note: Walk-in support will be closed on statutory holiday weekends and statutory holidays at all locations.

Integrated Ethnocultural Team

Families and youth can access immediate support from an integrated ethnocultural mental health team at ECMHS.

With the support of the City of Calgary’s 2021 Community Safety Investment Framework Fund, Calgary families and youth are able to call one number to request crisis support and therapy in their preferred language. Crisis counsellors and therapists at ECMHS speak: Arabic; Cantonese; Farsi; French; Hindi; Korean; Malayalam; Punjabi; Spanish; Tagalog; Urdu

Common Problems & Frequently Asked Questions

One of our Crisis Counsellors will book a virtual therapy session for your family to explore your daughter’s anxiety, as well as next steps to support your family’s and daughter’s needs. Therapy sessions are available on the same or next day you call.

Crisis counsellors are available to listen, support, and suggest effective parenting strategies 7 days a week from 8 am to 11 pm.

Our Crisis Counsellors are trained to do a suicide risk assessment over the phone or in-person. In-person crisis family visits are available on the same or next day you call.

In-person mediated crisis family visits are available on the same or next day you call. Our Crisis Counsellors will explore respite options including Wood’s Homes Community Stabilization Program – a 24/7 safe place for those experiencing family crisis and potential breakdown.

We offer counselling and therapy in the following languages: Arabic; Cantonese; Farsi; French; Hindi; Korean; Malayalam; Punjabi; Spanish; Tagalog; Urdu, and book a couples therapy session for you and your partner.

The Wellness Desk

Access free mental health and addictions support, health information, and referral to services. This initiative is generously supported by the City of Calgary, Boone-Poole Family Foundation, and donors of the Calgary Public Library Foundation.
