The Santa Project
Are you interested in supporting the Santa Project this year?
Wood’s Homes Annual Santa Project program supports the children, youth and their families receiving support through Wood’s Homes. We have made a few changes this year due to COVID-19. Our number one priority is keeping our clients and Santa Project donors healthy during the holiday season. Please read below for some Frequently Asked Questions.

Want to participate, but can't sponsor a whole family? No problem. Support the children, youth and families of Wood's Homes with a donation by calling 403-270-1775 or clicking here.

I am interested in sponsoring a family, but I am not sure how much to budget for an individual or a family?
We suggest a budget of $100 per family member.
We also recommend that every family receives a grocery gift card to provide them with a meal for the holiday season of $100-$250 depending on the size of the family.
I would like to spend more on my family?
We appreciate your support and the families are also so appreciative of the gifts they receive through the Santa Project. We encourage you to stick with the recommended budget for each family, but should you want to give more we encourage you to reach out and support another family or make a donation to Wood’s Homes areas of greatest need. How big are the families?
Families can range in size from 2-7+ people (you will have the opportunity to specify how many individuals/family members you would like to sponsor in the registration form).
Can I buy gifts for families?
Unfortunately at this time, we are only able to accept gift card and cash donations. Due to COVID-19, we want to ensure a safe holiday season for everyone. All cash donations will be used to purchase gift cards for Santa Project families. Once all Santa Project families have been supported, donations will be used to support our Santa All Year program.
Will I still receive information about the family member’s interest?
Yes, you will still receive information on the family in order to help you decide what gift cards you would like to provide the family with.
Are there other ways I can give to these families?
Please consider including any of the following to make the holidays an extra special time for these families:
- Write the family a letter
- Get your kids involved by having them write a letter or draw a picture
- Record a holiday greeting to be shared with the family
I would like to participate, but I can't sponsor an entire family or individual.
No problem, all of our youth and families can benefit from grocery store gift cards, mall gift cards or multi-store gift cards. If you would like to donate one of the items above, please reach out to us at SantaProject@woodshomes.ca or 403-270-1775.

When do gift cards need to be delivered to Wood’s Homes?
All gift cards need to be delivered to the Wood’s Homes Parkdale administration office (805 37th Street NW Calgary) no later than December 18, 2020.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Please note tax receipts will be provided in accordance with CRA guidelines. All Gift Card donations will require proper receipts and documentation in order to qualify for a receipt.
Meeting the immediate needs of the individuals and families involved in our Santa Project is our primary goal; however, excess funds will be used towards greatest needs of Wood’s Homes programs & services all year long.
