In many ways Don was a humanitarian - in his own way. Many of his family members, friends and colleagues would seek counsel and insight, advice or just someone to listen without judgement. Often his demeanor provided people with a sense of dignity no matter what they just confessed and it was always delivered warmly. He provided many people with the calm in their storm; sometimes just by providing another perspective or helping them with their request.

Don was a great father and husband. He was very involved with his two children, ensuring they felt loved each day with words of affirmation, encouraged them with their activities by being the coach of their sport teams, and the calm voice of reason when they were upset. He thrived when he was able to help children and young adults better themselves in their abilities and talents. 

Because of these attributes of Don, and many other things too long to list here, is why Wood's Homes would fit perfectly to honour his legacy of helping others.
