Proud to be a part of the Wood's Homes family

Kinga and I have had the esteemed opportunity in attending and supporting a variety of local fundraising efforts over the past decade or so. We have found that during that time, while we have been living, working and raising a family in our community, Wood’s Homes has become an increasingly special place that we have come to call our own. After we became aware of all of the services that Wood’s provides, it truly hit home with us – raising three children of our own, we always knew that we hoped they didn’t need the services of Wood’s Homes, but rested in the comfort of knowing Wood’s is there.
The relationships that we have established and built throughout our time with Wood’s have been ones of a genuine nature, and we are confident they‘ll last a lifetime. The people that surround and engage with the families and at-risk youth, are incredible – they give and give and give every day, in and out, never saying no, never giving up and never turning any one away. We have found this to resonate with us on several levels because of our own line of work in the funeral industry.
We joined the Lethbridge Children’s Benefit Dinner Committee, doing whatever it took to ensure that the annual event was successful, and when the position of chair(s) and host(s) came available, we humbly accepted without hesitation. Along with the amazing group of people on the committee, we strive to create a memorable evening that not only entertains, but also educates our guests and brings awareness to the reality of the needs of at-risk youth and families in Southern Alberta.
We want to take this opportunity to invite you to support our 15th Annual Children’s Benefit Gala on March 30, 2019. Join us in celebrating this milestone for Wood’s Homes and the Lethbridge community by reflecting on the impact of their incredible work with children, youth and families.
Guests will be treated to an evening of fine dining, laughter, entertainment and good friends, along with an opportunity to bid on silent and live auction items donated by some of our community’s most exciting and dynamic businesses and individuals.
This outstanding fundraising event supports Wood’s Homes’ emergency youth shelter, The CORE (Crisis, Outreach, Resources & Engage), which provides youth under 18-years-old a safe environment and basic necessities, including a warm bed, a hot meal, laundry facilities, showers, crisis counselling and support services.
Wood’s Homes has been proudly serving at-risk children and their families in Lethbridge and surrounding area since 1990, providing hope to those who struggle to find it themselves. In the three decades since, our city has changed, the people have changed and the needs of our most vulnerable have changed – and Wood’s Homes has changed, offering support to all who need it, regardless of the situation; they really do never give up. Now more than ever, we need to stand united, working together to support our community and the work of Wood’s Homes.
From the bottoms of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has, does and will support Wood’s Homes. The work of the staff, volunteers, mentors and partners goes unnoticed all too often, and bringing some semblance of light to the challenge of working with those in need is the least we can do as part of this amazing community.
Sincerely,
Travis & Kinga Zentner
