The Wood’s Homes Whole Family Treatment Program is a new program that opened its doors April 1st, 2015. It is an intense, short term program for families living in Calgary, Alberta, and across the country. It seeks to improve the safety, functioning, and knowledge of families dealing with mental health concerns.
Families stay in the family centre for 3 days, 7 days, or over a series of weekends if needed. We provide consistent support and clinical treatment to help all members of the family get back on the road to happy and healthy living. Family treatment services are provided by trained family support counsellors who help the family to acquire tailored parenting skills, knowledge and crisis management strategies. Therapeutic services include child development counselling, education, parenting strategies and safety planning. A collaborative plan will be designed for the family to work on prior, during, and post treatment.
Families can be referred to the Whole Family Treatment Program through a variety of ways:
- Self referral
- Child and Family Services referrals
- Wood’s Homes Internal referrals
- Community Referrals
