The Stabilization Assessment Program is a national, short-term (45-60 days), campus-based, trauma-informed assessment program that provides access to functional capacity, psychological, mental health, occupational therapy, art therapy and cognitive assessments for children (12-17 years) and their families.
A short-term assessment placement is provided to asses for mental health treatment needs, functioning capacity, trauma history, placement recommendations, as well as long-term family and community support needs.
During the assessment period, the program helps youth stabilize their risk behaviour by exploring triggering events, and practicing emotional and behavioural management skills. We work alongside families, caregivers and support networks to share practical parenting strategies and foster a deeper understanding of the impact trauma has on adolescent development.
If you are a parent or caregiver seeking support and guidance regarding a child or youth, or if you are looking for information about Intake and Referrals to a residential program, please contact our National Intake Co-ordinator (info below). You are also welcome to complete the referral package found at the link below. It can be faxed or emailed.
