Capitol Hill is a community residential program for children ages 6-12. Located in the community of Capitol Hill, it is a 5-bed program that is contracted to Calgary and Area Child and Family Services. The program provides a 3-month safe refuge for children who are behaviourally at-risk and have broken down, or are at risk of breaking down their current placements.
At Capitol Hill, the staff and management understand that children use behaviour as language. The program provides a homelike environment that is structured and caring, allowing children to be children while still striving to assist them in changing their behaviours.
All referrals to the Capitol Hill program are done through Placement Services (PSO). Caseworkers with CFS accompany their child to the admission meeting as well as a parent or caregiver when possible.
