Community Resource Team

The Community Resource Team (CRT) views crisis as a normal process that all people encounter at some point in their lives.

Our team of professionals represents the psychology and social work disciplines, and provides service to all individuals and families who are experiencing immediate difficulty.

A crisis situation can include:

  • Parent/child conflict
  • Conflict with the law
  • Depression, suicide, running concerns
  • Schooling difficulties
  • Drug/alcohol concerns
  • Domestic violence
  • Family relationship issues 

The benefits to clients include:

  • Diffusion of tension and crisis through immediate support
  • Ideas/interventions for decreasing family conflict
  • Information, education, and referral to other community-based services

CRT service components include:

  • Crisis counselling via telephone
  • Home visits, school visits, hospital visits
  • Risk assessments and education through workshops, keynote presentations, community resource fairs
  • Practicum student placement
